Every day is Halloween! But you, of corpse, know this. You would probably not be reading an update from a band called Lords of October if felt any other way. The truth is, while we all find our greatest pleasures within Autumn and it’s supernatural origins, every day has not be as usually black and orange weird as we would like it to be…at least for the past year or so. Covid-19 has made it’s way into our dead world and created so much turmoil and terror, that we have-along with the majority of the planet- had to take steps back in order to deal with it. The pandemic of 2020 and 2021 (so far) has revealed a horror that we were not totally ready for, but now that we are learning more and preparing better, the time feels right to reach back out, make a few changes here and there and say hello to YOU. We love and miss you. Lords of October send our morbid and malevolent magicks of mutanous and monstrous marvels to each of you. May it be that this message finds you in a ghoulish, ghastly and all around good place of wellness.
We took a long break from in person practices and have now, just recently, began to filter some things (from another world) back into our safe and soundful gatherings. We have all been working on our own creations and attending to the lives of those that we love.
I worked on a solo record- The Elder Sign- for a year and released it at the dawn of 2021. Along with that, I have been working on a lot of new Lords of October music, including some evolved versions of the music that will be on our forthcoming record, “Cryptozoology.” I also created a podcast called “I love Lucifer” on Anchor.FM, but have yet to really dig into that. I have also been working on several new books, some videos and short films, too, all of which are in the process of being completed.
Uncle Salem has been doing a lot of writing, research and lyrical/musical creation for the ‘Cryptozoology” record as well as other endeavors. He also shot and directed the music video for our song “House by the Cemetery,” which was a special video made for the Melody Inn in Indiana to help raise funds during the pandemic. He also hosts a weekly radio show called “Blank Generation with Uncle Salem” on solidstateradio.net and Spock Rock Radio.
October Phoenix has been working on a variety of written creations as well as building a studio in his home. Getting back together and working on the “Cryptozoology” music has proven that he has created some evolved rhythms for the new music, as well!
Aleister Kane has been working on production elements for some of our classic tunes, as we are thinking of remixes and remasters for some vinyl releases. He has also been writing and recording music at a great pace for his own solo project called Next Stop Neverland.
When the stars are right and the air is safer, we shall be back to haunt you at the local graveyards and taverns. We look forward to playing live for you again!
Until then, stay safe and spooky…and know if you just close your eyes, make a witchy wish, we will come and see you in your dreams….
